Winter Birdseed Feeders

We have made the birds (and squirrels) happy!

Following a read of The Night Tree by Eve Bunting, we made birdseed feeders out of cardboard tubes, peanut butter and birdseed.  In a matter of 15 minutes, we had 6 chickadees enjoying a snack right outside our window!

It was quite a messy project!

We enjoyed watching the birds enjoy their holiday gift! 

Dreidel Game

We have been learning about the holiday of Hanukkah this week.

We learned that Jewish people who celebrate this holiday play the game of dreidel.  

We even enjoyed some chocolate gelt at the close of our game!

3D Block Structures

We're reviewing the meaning of SYMMETRY as a part of our geometry unit.

We created symmetrical designs with pattern blocks.  Then we worked with a partner taking turns to build a 3D structure that shows symmetry.

Our Amazing Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanks to an amazing group of volunteers, we were able to enjoy a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner at school!  What an amazing community of friends and families to be a part of...

Preparing for our U.S. Symbol Presentations

Prior to our final presentations, the groups rehearsed how they would present.

There were many decisions to make:

Where should we stand?

Who should share which fact?

How loud do we need to speak for the audience to learn from us?

We played a game called "Bluster" that helped us to find and learn about synonyms.
