Aaahhhh... D.E.A.R. Time!

We enjoy time with our second grade buddies next door each Friday afternoon with a relaxing D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read!) time in our classrooms.

Personal Narrative Writing

Trevor needed to know how to draw a tractor.  So our tractor expert, Aiden, showed him!

After a lot of hard work planning, writing, editing and revising, Mrs. Barry published our personal narrative writing.  As the final step, we illustrated them!

We drew the details with black markers then filled them with color.

Our masterpieces are complete!  Come to Open House to see our entire collection!

Viking Longships

We created Viking Longships with our second grade friends.
We let them set sail on a short voyage in the water table.
Try them out at home in the sink or bathtub!

Readers

We have been busy reading, talking about what we read and sharing connections with the text.

Geology

We carefully observed the rocks we brought to school.

We tested their level of hardness by seeing if they could write on a piece of black paper.

 We observed our results.
We classified our rocks based on different characteristics.

We did an experiment to test how rocks can change when they get wet.  We wrote and shared our observations.
